kindkit: Sailing ship at sea. (Fandomless: Blue ship)
Title: Liberation
Fandom: Colditz
Characters: OFC, George Brent
Rating: Teen
Warning: (skip) Character death, implied suicide.
Word count: 200
Summary: She finds the sketchbook as she's clearing out George's things.
Notes: George is canonically married, but we don't learn much about his wife. As for the rest . . . I don't know why my brain gives me ideas like this.

kindkit: Tintin with his arm around Captain Haddock (Tintin: embrace)
This, believe it or not, is a ficlet project story. The last ficlet requestor, [livejournal.com profile] brewsternorth, pooled hir request with [livejournal.com profile] ansketil_rose and [personal profile] vilakins to ask for a longer Tintin story. Two months later . . . well, it's certainly longer than a ficlet.

Title: One Small Step
Fandom: Tintin
Pairing: Tintin/Haddock
Rating: Teen
Warnings: I've followed Hergé's statement that Tintin is about 17 in the later comics. This makes him underage by some laws (including Belgian law at the time), but there's no sex in this story. Also, it's set in the early 1950s and some of the attitudes reflect that.
Word count: 9473
Summary: Going to the moon is the simple part.
Notes: This is set during Objectif: Lune and On a marché sur la Lune (aka Destination: Moon and Explorers on the Moon) and may not make much sense if you're not familiar with those albums. I've used the French forms of names and my own versions of Haddock's French oaths because I prefer them to the ones in the English translations. The medical stuff (hi, [livejournal.com profile] halotolerant!) is grossly inaccurate, I'm sure; I followed canon on that even when it seemed ridiculous, and for the rest just made stuff up. Finally, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ansketil_rose for a thoughtful and helpful beta.

kindkit: Tintin with his arm around Captain Haddock (Tintin: embrace)
All the recent talk of Yuletide 2011 made me realize that I'd better hurry up and write a New Year's Resolution story (I dropped out of the last Yuletide and I want to be sure I'm eligible to sign up again this year). One nice thing about NYR is that you can pick a prompt that suits you; probably no one will be surprised that I picked Tintin.

This is for [livejournal.com profile] miss_morland, who requested a story dealing with the grimmer political implications of Tintin and the Picaros. I took the bleak and cynical undertones of that comic and ran with them.

Title: On a Darkling Plain
Fandom: Tintin
Pairing: Haddock/Tintin (but this isn't primarily a shippy story)
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None
Word count: 1318
Summary: There's news from San Theodoros, and it isn't pleasant.
Notes: Title from Matthew Arnold's Dover Beach.

Title: An Engagement Present
Fandom: Tintin
Characters: Bianca Castafiore, Tintin/Haddock
Rating: All ages
Warnings: None
Word count: 200
Summary: What Bianca knows.
Notes: Set during Les Bijoux de la Castafiore (The Castafiore Emerald). Further notes at the end.

Title: Make and Mend
Fandom: Tintin
Character: Haddock (Haddock/Tintin UST implied)
Rating: all ages
Warnings: None
Word count: 400
Summary: Haddock makes a gift
Notes: This is related to my last drabble, Solo Ascent, in which Tintin's blue sweater is a gift from Haddock. It also owes a lot to my recent Tintin-related discussions with [livejournal.com profile] halotolerant; Haddock having made the sweater himself was her idea.

Title: Solo Ascent
Fandom: Tintin
Characters or Pairing: Tintin; Tintin/Haddock implied
Rating: All ages
Warnings: None
Word count: 200
Summary: Tintin goes on alone.
Notes: This isn't the "real" Tintin fic I'm working on at several folks' request, just a little drabble inspired by re-reading Tintin in Tibet. Angsty as an angsty thing, but we know it all ends well.

Title: Aubade
Fandom: Reginald Hill's Dalziel and Pascoe novels
Pairing: Wield/Pascoe
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None
Word count: 300
Summary: The sun is rising.
Notes: I've often thought about an AU where Ellie leaves Peter after the events of Underworld, and Wield and Peter get together. This, I'm afraid, is the least happy version of it. Written for [livejournal.com profile] wishfulaces, whose prompt was Wield, Pascoe, and sunlight.

Title: The Fly in the Ointment
Fandom: Tintin
Characters: Milou (aka Snowy), Tintin/Haddock
Rating: All ages
Warnings: None
Word count: 350
Summary: Everything has changed.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] miss_morland, who asked for Tintin/Haddock from an outside POV. Um, the dog has an interior monologue in canon, OK? Also, I've used Milou's French name because (a) I'm reading Tintin in French, and (b) on the whole I like the French names better than the translated ones.

Fandom: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, by John Le Carré
Pairing: Jim Prideaux/Bill Haydon
Rating: Teen

Summary: Bill is Bill; Jim is stoic.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] flo_nelja, who asked for Jim and Bill in their youth. Title from this Shakespeare sonnet, of course.

Fandom: Tintin
Characters: Captain Haddock (with unacted-on Haddock/Tintin desire)
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Alcoholism
Word count: 300
Summary: Of thirst.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] halotolerant, who is entirely to blame for my new interest in slashing old children's comics. So far I've only read The Crab With the Golden Claws, which this drabble is set shortly after; apologies if anything here is wrong according to later canon.

Title: The Patrician's Servant
Fandom: Discworld
Characters: Drumknott (implied Drumknott/Vetinari)
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Character death, grieving.
Word count: 200
Summary: Some things are stronger than death. They're not necessarily the things you expect.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] ansketil_rose, who asked for Drumknott after Vetinari's death. This is set in the same universe as Midwinter but isn't necessarily "canonical" to it, if that makes sense. It's one way things might turn out.

Title: Favouritism
Fandom: Life on Mars
Characters: Gene Hunt
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None needed
Word count: 200
Summary: Tyler causes trouble even when he's not around. Maybe especially then.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] pinkdormouse, who asked for slashy Sam & Gene friendship and "another fine mess you've got us into." Set ca. S2 or possibly post-show. I should mention that I never watched Ashes to Ashes and this fic ignores everything I've heard about it.

Fandom: X-Men: First Class
Characters: Darwin, Charles, Erik
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Period-appropriate offensive (homophobic and transphobic) language.
Word count: 715
Summary: A talk on the road from New York to Virginia.
Notes: Written for [personal profile] lilacsigil, whose prompt was Darwin and escape. This veered away a bit thematically but I think still responds to the prompt. Also, I know nothing about Darwin's comicsverse background; everything here is my own speculation based on what we see in XMFC.

Title: Appropriate Usage
Fandom: American pedant RPF
Pairing: Strunk/White
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None needed
Word count: 100
Disclaimer: Although Strunk and White were real people, this is complete nonsense that doesn't remotely claim to be true.
Summary: The power of language.
Notes: This is every bit as silly as you'd expect for a drabble inspired by a cartoon. Don't blame me, blame XKCD.
