Peel is nasty - I love fruitcake but I don't buy fruitcake with peel. I want to try making my own but I need time. No time. (I want to try a panettone, too, but the time!)
How do your bagels go? I don't know if I make mine too soft, or what because once I put them in the soda bath they go flat as pancakes. They taste good but they look ridiculous.
